Damyang Juknokwon (담양 죽녹원) is known as the largest and most popular bamboo forest in South Korea.

If you’re planning to visit Juknokwon, I recommend spending at least two hours to walk through this park, snap some photos, and wander through the lush green forest paths. Keep in mind, there is a small ticket fee. Watch my video on YouTube for more.

Eat Bamboo-Flavored Ice Cream

We’ve heard of matcha green tea flavored ice cream. What about bamboo flavored ice cream?

Outside of the Bamboo Forest, there are a few small ice cream shops with bamboo flavored ice cream and other bamboo crafted gifts.

Eat on Noodles Street

The noodles cost about 4,000 won and serve a bowl-full of noodles to refuel after the bamboo forest walk.

Update: Before leaving South Korea, my friends Miranda & Wyatt (from the US) and I met up and visited Damyang. It was their first time visiting Jeollanam-do province and we recorded a video! Read more about our experience in this blog post or watch my YouTube video.
